Jesus Our Saviour and Friend
Who is Jesus?
Historically, Jesus was a man who lived in the area of Israel 2000 years ago. He spent the final 3 years of his life healing people and teaching them how to live. But this man made some incredible claims. He claimed to be the Son of God - Matt 27:43. He claimed to be One with the Father - John 10:30. He also claimed: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6. Jesus asked his disciples: "Who do you say that I am?" - Matt 16:14-16. Essentially, each of us must ask ourselves this question!
Why did Jesus Die?
If this man was God, why did He die? The answer is shocking... "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." - I Peter 3:18 The following states that his motive was love for each of us... "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Roman 5:8
An Invitation from Jesus!
Jesus made an invitation which is extended to you and I: "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." - John 6:35 And again another invitation: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." - Rev 3:20 We have an invitation to come to Jesus... to get to know Him and be known by Him. If you want to respond to His invitation, you can do so right now in your own words and in the quietness of your heart.
What do I do next?
If you have accepted His invitation, you have become a Christian. This is not the end, it is only the beginning. It is the beginning of a new life! It is the beginning of a new relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You are not alone. God has given you His Spirit to live in you and to guide you: "And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit" - Eph 1:3 In order to grow in your new life, you will want to listen to His words in the Bible. You will want to meet others who know Jesus. You will want to worship Him. We would like to extend an invitation for you to come to Middle Creek for our Worship Service. We would also like to extend an invitation to you to join us for an Alpha course.
